An assessment is where our firm reviews your accounting records, processes, and policies and makes recommendations for improvement. This one-time project provides you with information that you can use to implement changes, or you can engage with us to provide recurring accounting assistance.

An assessment involves three phases: discovery, findings, and recommendations.

Steve Wadleigh, CPA

Steve Wadleigh, CPA

Client Accounting & Advisory Services Principal

Licensed CPA Steve Wadleigh is our Client Accounting Services department principal and has been with Altman, Rogers & Co. since 1998. In addition to his CAS expertise, Steve is one of our principal auditors and has decades of experience providing audit, review, and compilation services. His unique, big-picture perspective and broad knowledge base is invaluable – especially to clients who require audited financial statements for funding, bonding, or other reporting requirements and to clients who appreciate customized services scaled to their specific needs.

Steve graduated with honors from Vanguard University in 1996 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Alaska Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Government Finance Officers Association.

Jen Willette

Jennifer Willette

Client Accounting & Advisory Services Supervisor

Jennifer (Jen) Willette joined the Altman Rogers team as a CAS Specialist in September 2020 and was promoted to CAS Supervisor in July 2021. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bowdoin College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Archaeology and recipient of honors and awards in both Latin and German. Jen has owned her own bookkeeping and accounting business since 2005 and comes to Altman Rogers with over 20 years’ experience in the world of bookkeeping, accounting, and business/ financial management. She has experience working with both for- and non-profit entities of all sizes, including law firms, medical offices, and professional consultants. Her specialties include interfacing between tax professionals and clients, general ledger clean-up and corrections, audit preparation, and the creation of custom financial tracking tools.

Jen is currently the Treasurer of The Alaska Huts Association.

Mike Wetzel

Michael Wetzel, Jr.

Senior Advisory Consultant

Michael (Mike) Wetzel joined Altman, Rogers & Co. in September 2022 as Municipality Management Consultant and has since moved into the Municipality Coordinator position. Mike has a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance as well as a Master of Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University. His experience includes accounting and management for government entities, the energy sector, healthcare and maritime industries.

Mike spent five years as the Chief Financial Officer for a local government with an annual budget of $60M. He oversaw the property tax, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll departments with a total team count of 18 including 3 CPAs. He also briefly oversaw the Information Technology department.
